Composer David Buckley

David is a film and tv composer working in Los Angeles and London. David has recently completed scores for Town Creek (Joel Schumacher/Lionsgate) and The Forbidden Kingdom (Rob Minkoff/Lionsgate). From 2006, David moved his studio to Los Angeles and has contributed music to a number of Harry Gregson-Williams’ scores, including Shrek the Third (Dreamworks SKG), Gone Baby Gone (Miramax), Flushed Away (Dreamworks SKG/Aardman), The Number 23 (New Line Cinema), The Revenge (Scott Free), and Jolene. He has also contributed music to the Playstation game: Metal Gear Solid 4, and the tv show: Shrek The Halls.

His first involvement with film music was as a cathedral chorister performing on Peter Gabriel’s score for Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ. He continued his education at Cambridge University. His commercial work began with composing for the Tussauds Studios, writing tracks which featured in the leading theme parks across the UK and Europe. In 2002 he teamed up with TV composer Keith Bayley and between them they have written scores for dozens of tv shows and advertising campaigns (including Pantene and Charmin). He still has works performed in UK concert venues and radio stations, and is frequently used as an arranger for pop and crossover artists.

David’s output has been influenced by a wide range of musical styles ranging from classical, historic, ambient, electronic, choral and ethnic. He is equally at home with a large scale symphony orchestra as he is scoring from his LA studio.
